Pooja Hegde Career
During college life Pooja Hegde was regularly participating in different intercollegiate dance competitions and Fashion Shows. She participated in the Miss India 2009 competition, but was eliminated in an early round despite winning the Miss India Talented 2009 honour.
In 2010 she again applied for Miss India competition and she stood 2nd and was awarded runner-up in the Miss Universe India 2010 competition, She was also crowned for Miss India South Glamorous Hair 2010 in the subsidiary competition.
As Tulu was her maternal language, she started to work Tamil film. Her first film was Mugamoodi where she worked to opposite Jiiva, portraying the female lead character of Shakthi, a fun-loving girl who inspires the male lead to change his outlook on society.
She was selected after Mysskin had seen still photographs from her pageant success, and Hegde helped practice Tamil dialogue for the film by writing and memorizing words in English, adding that the similarity between Tamil and her native tongue Tulu was also useful.
Prior to release, the film garnered high expectations as a result of the novel theme of a superhero in Tamil films and the film took a grand opening at the box office in August 2012.
The next movie she worked was the Telugu film Oka Laila Kosam in 2014,she performed superbly in the film ,Due to her hard work she was nominated for Best Actress at the 62nd Filmfare Awards.
In 2016 Pooja Hegde step into Bollywood industry with the movie from “Mohenjo Daro” playing the role of Chaani directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
In 2017 and 2018 she performed in different Telugu films Like Duvvada Jagannadham, Rangasthlam, Saakshyam,
In 2019 She played the role of Rajkumari Mala in Hindi film Housefull 4, which was directed by Farhad Samji.Her acting role continued in 2020 and she is working on different projects.
